Summer 2025: Midyear Momentum
By fenris
We’re midway through 2025, and while much of our work remains in progress or behind the scenes, we’re seeing meaningful momentum emerge from steady, collaborative effort.
The Importance of Supporting Team Leaders
This has been a challenging year for civil society organizations, with budget cuts, external pressures, and many under direct attack. It has never been more important for us to think about how we can support data and product leaders— providing thought partnership, facilitating peer learning, and empowering them to make strategic decisions rather than react to each blip in the news or hype cycle.
Navigating the AI Landscape
AI continues to dominate many conversations we’re having, across the sector, with teams caught between pressure to adopt AI tools and the need to find signals in all the noise. For our clients, who care deeply about ethical and environmental implications, we’ve been helping develop frameworks for evaluating opportunities, rather than chasing trends.
Building long term relationships
We’re excited to be developing strong partnerships with clients whose work we’ve long admired and wanted to support. We’ve been able to contribute to technical strategy, shape product roadmaps, and provide mentorship to internal teams navigating delivery and scale. These engagements have been deeply collaborative—we’re learning as much as we’re contributing, and we’re optimistic about growing these relationships over time.
Growing the Network
Fenris is pleased to be working closely again with friends and colleagues at The Data Guild – together, the Fenris and TDG networks are a powerful force!
As we head into the second half of 2025, we’re looking to connect with independent consultants who share our values and want to join the Fenris delivery network. We’re particularly interested in experienced software engineers and product leads drawn to mission-driven work.
If you’re working on something aligned, we’d love to hear from you.
